| A TRIBUTE TO DON HOLT
Don continued to witness and minister to people and in 1990, he received a Colson Scholarship to Wheaten College where he studied for the ministry. While in college, Don began experiencing health problems. Hepatitis C, which he had contracted earlier in his life began to damage his liver. During his last semester at Wheaten he became very ill but would not give up. He graduated even in the face of this trial. The disease progressed to the point where he needed a liver transplant. Many people prayed for him to receive a transplant. Surely God would not take him after bringing him through so much. Then the good news came! Don was to receive a liver transplant. Don continued his ministry during his recovery and ministered to many incarcerated men and women all over the US through Campus Crusade For Christ, Bill Glass Ministries and his own Wanted Alive Ministries. Then, He was diagnosed with cancer.
However, after a long battle with the cancer, he went to be with the Lord on July 15, 1999 at 10:20 p.m. We will all miss him. Even in his weakened condition, he spent the last week of his life singing praises, witnessing and praying. He was a powerful prayer warrior. |
