Don Holt lived and died his testimony. As most of you know, after years of crime and incarceration he received a 500 year sentence in McAlester prison, June 10, 1975. On March 15, 1977, he committed his life to the Lord. He began his ministry immediately by witnessing in prison. He was paroled Feb. 1982 and received a full pardon by the Governor of Oklahoma Jan. 1989.

Don continued to witness and minister to people and in 1990, he received a Colson Scholarship to Wheaten College where he studied for the ministry.

While in college, Don began experiencing health problems. Hepatitis C, which he had contracted earlier in his life began to damage his liver. During his last semester at Wheaten he became very ill but would not give up. He graduated even in the face of this trial.

The disease progressed to the point where he needed a liver transplant. Many people prayed for him to receive a transplant. Surely God would not take him after bringing him through so much. Then the good news came! Don was to receive a liver transplant.

Don continued his ministry during his recovery and ministered to many incarcerated men and women all over the US through Campus Crusade For Christ, Bill Glass Ministries and his own Wanted Alive Ministries. Then, He was diagnosed with cancer.

Don endured several courses of chemotherapy all the while continuing to serve his Lord with joy. During this period he led a correspondence bible study program for incarcerated men and women. Almost 1500 men and women in prisons around the country are currently enrolled. He also formed a prison ministry pen-pal program.

However, after a long battle with the cancer, he went to be with the Lord on July 15, 1999 at 10:20 p.m. We will all miss him. Even in his weakened condition, he spent the last week of his life singing praises, witnessing and praying. He was a powerful prayer warrior.
