History
and How the idea came about: In December 1996 and January 1997 I was watching some of the college and professional football games. In a few of the games (i.e. Florida v. Florida St, Jacksonville v. Denver) there were several players who gave all of the credit to God - their Testimonies. They didn't do it nonchalantly either. It was a very bold stand for our Savior Jesus Christ. As I heard Reggie White, Danny Wuerffel, Mark Brunell, Tony Boselli, and several others give glory to God, I felt like I knew them and I really liked them just by what they said. This was very encouraging to me, and it also affected others who I have talked with. Super
Bowl Jan 26, 1997 In fact my pastor mentioned these instances in a Sunday morning service as an example of how it made other Christians feel to know what these men were saying. He said that it created a 'fellowship' between us and the men who were giving credit to God because the one thing we have in common with them is Jesus Christ. Since I felt this way and found out that others had also felt a "bond" between these strangers over the TV then I thought it would be very cool to have a web site devoted to those people who are involved in high-profile careers that entertain us or that lead our government, etc... I talked to several people about the idea and everyone of them was encouraged by it. I've prayed about it and feel like God will open or close the necessary doors to make this happen. I checked the internet and was surprised to find that both testimones.org and testimonies.com were available so I registered them. It is my prayer that the Lord will provide both the resources and content for this site to both edify and enlarge the world wide body of Christ. I thank you for your visit and encourage any suggestions you might have for the site.
